About

Built by someone who has stood on the floor.

Rony Martin, founder of Smartin, trained as a hospitality operator before he ever wrote software. He holds a Bachelor's in Hospitality Business Management from EHL in Lausanne, and spent the years that followed inside operations rather than looking at them from a consultant's desk.

Two of those years were on the pre-opening team of the Orient Express Corinthian, a luxury sailing yacht — the kind of project where every procedure, checklist and handover has to be invented from nothing, and where the gap between what the systems record and what the crew actually needs to know becomes obvious very quickly.

At Baur au Lac in Zürich he worked food & beverage operations in a five-star house with decades of established routine. At Amangiri, on Aman's Experience team, he saw how far a small team will go to hold guest preferences in their heads, on Post-its and in shared spreadsheets, because no single tool brings them together.

Smartin grew out of that pattern. Rony builds the software himself, sitting alongside the PMS and POS a property already runs — never replacing them — so that what a team knows about its guests and its day is finally in one place. Smartin is a Swiss company and works with hotels, ships and trains internationally.
